19th-century Scandinavian painted canopy bedstead dated 1824, with richly decorated recessed panels across the headboard, canopy, and footboard. The footboard incorporates cabinet doors, while turned posts and hand-painted architectural and floral motifs extend throughout the structure.
Comes with a custom down wrapped foam cushion upholstered in Pierce & Ward clay linen as well as a custom wood mattress support. This does not fit any standard US or European mattress size, consistent with its age. Please note, there are signs of aging and wear throughout based on the age and history of this very special piece.
